Good News Club
were kids learn about God!
We had are "Kick Off" on August 7th at Myra's house. It was a Kick Off/Bar-B-Q/Pool Party. We had a packed house. Linda taught some introductions to the Bible lessons and Judy did a demonstration of a memory verse. Everyone enjoyed their teaching. The teacher's picked up their lesson Moses: The Chosen Deliverer and songs. Myra demonstrated how to teach the kids the 10 commanments in a way they will never forget them. As always Shannon and Barbara prepared the best lunch for everyone. Next year 2011 we will have breakfast by the pool. Hope you can join us.

I wrote on facebook about the Wordless Book and a young lady wrote back that she remembered my famous flannel broad and the song "Nothing but the Blood" she even wrote out the words. This young lady was in my class over ten years ago and still remembers that song and the stories taught. God's Word does not return void -Myra Marquez,

When I heard Stacy's testimony I asked her to write it down so that I could share it with you. We serve an awesome God!
When I enrolled my son Rush in kindergarten, I was an atheist. I just could not wrap my head around God. My mom and grandma were heartbroken and my mom would remind me that she raised me better that that. When enrolling my son, Rush, in school I came across the religious background question and I proudly checked atheist. Boy did the Lord have plans for my family and especially me. For starters my son's teacher just happened to be Joline Henry, Pastor Dave Henry's wife from Calvary Chapel Barstow. Then Rush became best friends with a boy named Mikeal. Rush and Mikeal were in the same class, live in the same neighborhood and rode the bus together. Soon flyer's for Good News Club were sent out. Mikeal had Rush really excited about Good News Club. I was all for Rush going to a club with his friend even though I was an atheist. My son was curious about God. We talked about how some people believe and some people don't, but that everyone has to make the decisions themselves. Not long after Good News Club started Rush was bringing home memory verses and singing songs, that brought back my childhood memories of church. Soon I was showing up early and sitting in the back listening, working with Rush on his verses and little assignments. Before long I was helping whenever they needed an extra hand and falling in love with the Lord again. Reading the Bible I had when I was a little girl as often as possible. I later bought a really nich study Bible. I began attending Calvary Chapel Barstow. There I took a course called Teaching Children Effectively Level 1 with Child Evangelism Fellowship of the High Desert. I started teaching Sunday school and now I am the lead Bible teacher for the Good News Club at Lenwood. I thank the Lord everyday for putting me back on the right path. -Stacy Krommenhoek, Lenwood GNC
Keep all our Good News Club teachers and the kids who attend the clubs in prayer.
"Next to the local church and Sunday Schools, I think that the
most efficient and economical way to win children to Jesus Christ
is through the ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship"
